LAURA HAWLEY

Cienne Société
Laura Hawley is a mother, graphic designer, content creator, founder and the face of The Vault Online, an online fashion page that shows her audience how to live a stylish and well rounded life.

With her effortless ability to seamlessly blend luxury fashion with high street labels, she has grown a cult following that loves what she does as much as we do. We believe our homes should follow this same philosophy, there really is nothing better when a space has been thoughtfully curated and collected over time with pieces that speak directly to us... in other words, learn to treat your home just like your wardrobe.

Join us as we get to know Laura and share her story... Just don’t blame us if you end up buying every piece she wears!

Tell us who you are?

I’m Laura - the founder and face behind The Vault Online. People often refer to me as the love child of Carrie Bradshaw and Mark Zuckerberg. A little fashion, a little nerd!

What do you do?

Through my Instagram platform, I try to bring an approachability to fashion and style. A vision lead by my personally developed aesthetic – rough luxe; the art of mixing luxury pieces with high street fashion in an effortless execution of edge and elegance. I am also a graphic designer and content creator for an array of fashion and lifestyle clients.

How did you get to where you are now?

Endless internship hours, lots of tears and lessons learned along the way. I started in the fashion industry when I was 16, working as an intern on my school holidays. After finishing school, I studied a Bachelor of Design majoring in Styling and Creative Direction. Whilst studying, I had also landed a job working as the Fashion Editor for a bi-annual magazine where I had met all the right people in the industry. Once I completed my bachelor, I launched The Vault Online at the time where there were very few “bloggers”.

The Vault Online was an insiders guide that allowed you to shop with creativity, knowledge and daily inspiration, picking up on trends as they happened. Since then, it’s now solely on instagram and has purely become a creative outlet after having my two little boys. I found with the monotony of motherhood; I needed a platform to express my creativity through fashion in a space that was relatable to those in the same position. I love the Instagram family I have created – a community of women who constantly use The Vault as an opportunity and guide to learn to style themselves particularly after children.

What’s your best piece of business advice?

I always find this is a tricky question because by no means am I an expert. I think the best thing is to know your worth and treat those around you with respect and kindness. It sounds like a simple act, however it’s incredible how many people don’t take this on board. Also, you never know if that person you are burning a bridge with will become the editor of Vogue tomorrow. Just let that sit. I think people are attracted to authenticity, they can sense it through the camera lens.

What’s your favourite book, podcast or playlist?

I love listening to BUTTER - it’s a playlist made by interior guru Steve Cordony. It so relaxing and laid back and takes me on an escape I sometimes need to switch off.

Las Ventanas Al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort Celebrates 25th Anniversary | Travel Agent Central

Dream hotel or travel destination?

Mexico! 💃🍹 In particular stay at Las Ventanas Al Paraiso. Looks like heaven!

Where would we find you? Eg. favourite place to eat or drink?

Most Friday nights, I’ll be with my boys and you’ll find us at Da Orazio - the most authentic yet vibey Italian restaurant and one that is so accomodating for kids too. Ori is a relative of mine and I’ve always loved supporting his journey. It’s the best Friday night family dinner spot!

Who is your style crush, interior, lifestyle or fashion?

Shared style crush between Hannah Lewis and Emili Sindlev. Both their styles are so individual and I’m always inspired by both. Interiors, I can’t go past Eyeswoon.

If you could pick one piece from the CIENNE store what would it be?
Two favourites - Vintage French Vase 1.06 and Bottega Veneta Rim Aviator Sunglasses.

All Hat and no Cattle

What would ‘the dream’ furniture piece be, vintage or new?

Art is something I am always drawn to and constantly on the hunt for. I don’t love having empty walls. So I’m currently dreaming about a Monique Lacey piece entitled “All Hat and no Cattle”.

Find Laura.
